Q: Who is eligible to buy a firearm at the auction?

 

A: All bidders must be legally eligible to own a firearm. Generally, this means you must be at least 18 years old to purchase a long gun (rifle or shotgun) and at least 21 years old to purchase a handgun. All buyers must comply with all Federal, State, and Local laws.

 

Q: How does the legal transfer of a firearm work?

 

A: You win the auction and pay for the item. The firearm is shipped to a licensed FFL dealer that you designate in your state of residence. You must visit that FFL dealer to complete the required paperwork, including the ATF Form 4473, and pass a mandatory background check (NICS). Once the background check is approved, the FFL dealer transfers the firearm to you. Note: Your FFL dealer will likely charge a background and transfer fee, which is separate from the auction price and shipping.

 

Q: Are there age restrictions on ammunition?

 

A: Generally, you must be 18 years old to purchase rifle/shotgun ammunition and 21 years old to purchase handgun ammunition. All ammunition purchases must comply with all local, state, and federal laws.

 

Q: Is there a buyer's premium?

 

A: Yes, most gun auctions charge a buyer's premium, which is a percentage added to the final winning bid (the "hammer price"). GGGGA's charges an 18% buyer's premium.

 

Q: What forms of payment are accepted?

 

A: Credit Cards are required to register for the auction and will be charged once the auction is completed. Cash may be accepted for in-person pickups but must be specified within 24 hours after the close of the auction, otherwise the credit card on file will be charged. Consult the specific auction terms for accepted methods and any applicable fees.

 

Q: How long do I have to pay for my winning items?

 

A: Payment will be charged to your registered credit card no later that 48 hours after the close of the auction.

 

Q: How do I consign a firearms collection with GGGGA for auction?

 

A: Fill out our contact form on our website and a company representative will reach out to you to discuss your auction items.

 

Q: Are there fees for consigning/selling a gun?

A: Yes. Sellers are charged a percentage of hammer price for each lot sold. The exact commission percentage will be outlined in your consignment contract and will be based on various factors.

Q: When do I get paid after my items sell?

A: Per standard contract terms, sellers usually receive payment (via company check) within 30 days following the close of the auction.

 

Q: Can I pick up my firearm in person?

Yes, if you are a Nevada resident, you may schedule a pick up date/time. When picking up, a background check with be done onsite prior to delivery of the firearm.  Additional background check fees apply.

 

Q: What are the shipping charges for firearms?

A: Shipping costs for firearms vary based on the item's size, weight, value (for insurance), and the recipient's location.

 

Q: Can the firearm be shipped directly to my home?

A: No. Federal law requires that all firearms (handguns, rifles, and shotguns) be shipped to an FFL dealer.
